This collection inspired by traditional workwear with a focus on Plougastel clothes (Brittany) was unveiled on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Celtic dance group Bleuniou Sivi (Plougastel) in association with Alizée Séguillon who dressed the men while NOLWENN FALIGOT designed the womenswear.
The colour palette displays the specific workwear colours of Plougastel blending shades of linen inspired whites and beiges punctuated with shots of navy, blue and purple borrowed from the “pilpous” traditional apron. The traditional weaving technique is also reinterpreted on hand-woven lace.
All details from the collection are based on authentic pieces found in the local museum’s archives (Musée de la Fraise et du Patrimoine) as well as collected old postcards and photographs.
Following the show, the photographer Charlaine Croguennec joined the project to bring the clothes to light through her camera at “les Ateliers des Capucins” (Brest - Brittany) a recently remodelled naval industrial building.
